Have had new gas valve fitted to my Myson Apollo 30/50. today by RGI. He noted burner was fierce and boiler was noisy after fitting, so he significantly reduced burner pressure from manufacturers setting, as stated on case.
Boiler is now quieter, but still heats up radiators. Main burner stays on for longer though.
Is there a down side to this action? Should it be returned to recommended setting when boiler is serviced, or left as is?

He clearly thought it was a good idea.
Was just looking for a bit of advice whether to get it changed back on next service, or if it is fine to leave at the lower setting.

This boiler can be range rated thats why its a 30/50 there will be 3 settings on the data panel, high, medium and low.

So as long as its within the limits stated there's not a problem.

If its to low it'l take longer to get the rads hot and if its to high it'l overheat

Thanks for that info compheat.
I have had this boiler for numerous years and never new that. I think the boiler was overheating at 14.4mbar, so was reduced to about half of that.
I wish someone had told me about the variable rang rating years ago!
The boiler has always had the pressure set to max, and probably has been overheating. It has been serviced / repaired by several RGI's - who always checked the burner pressure, and set it at the max!
