I bought a vibration plate machine

(see here for an example picture) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hot...607114103.html?spm=2114.search0304.4.1.kTgkIV

Only used it for a month and the mat that you stand on has come off. I'll have to buy some adhesive mail order, and want to get it right first time.

The top of the machine is black-coated thin steel and the mat appears to be rubber.

Can anyone help by telling me what adhesive will do this job and stand up to the heat and vibration?

Many thanks!

Firstly is it new? If so get it exchanged.

If not I think I would go for evostik contact, but you have to get it right first time! http://www.bostik.co.uk/diy/product/evo-stik/Impact/6

It was great fun in the 70's wrestling with a sheet of Formica trying to get it spot on first time!:ROFLMAO:

If you have never used it maybe timebond might be a safer option. http://www.bostik.co.uk/diy/product/evo-stik/Timebond/7

It will also depend on what residue there is from the original adhesive it really needs to be clean before any new adhesive is used.(y)

Thank you Footprint.
It would be more trouble and expense to take it back than to repair it.
The plate is almost clean of glue residue. Clearly, they didn't put much on! It would be easy for me to make it spotless. Ditto the mat.
I am sure I could lay the mat back on at first attempt, provided the glue could be put on the plate only and not also on the rubber mat.
I will order that glue.

Turns out I can get the Timebond for a fiver on Amazon, post free. Best thing really.

Just to clarify with impact adhesives (like evo-stik) you have to coat both surfaces and usually wait a set time before bringing them together.

The carpet spray is similar to the Evostick, and can't be repositioned; but you can lay the mat down, lift one side and spray the adhesive, then press it down, and then lift the other side. But the worst drawback to it, is that you need to be careful not to overspray, so a bit of masking tape and newspaper is a good idea if you don't have a steady hand.

Ensure that the surface you are putting the adhesive onto is clean, also give it a rub with a fine grid sandpaper etc. to roughen it up (then clean it again).
