Hello,

My girlfriend bought her house from a housing association that has the LP241Si installed so that the landlord can extort expensive service costs onto tenants. Since she owns the property, she doesn't want to experience lack of hot water when she needs it.

How easy is it to remove one of these units from the wall? I'll be replacing it with the stock LP241.

I know the wiring is identical but the Si model has to be 'serviced' by a remote reset tool and its cheaper to buy a new programmer than it is to buy the reset tool.

I don't live with her, so I can't look at the unit right now. Does it have screws underneath that enable to programmer to disconnect from the back panel or is there some special tool you need to remove it?

Thanks in advance,

John

Cut off power to boiler (at fused spur/plug and socket)
Undo two screws underneath 241Si
Unhinge programmer off.
Hinge new 241 on.
Tighten two screws.
Turn power back on.

Two minute job.

as londonboy says

easy

note it hinges from the bottom and has tabs at the top. The back part plugs onto the front so the prongs hold it in place when the screws are slackened

but when you have the new one in your hand you will see how to do it
