removing floor tiles stuck with Bitumen

Please can someone advise me what chemical I should use to remove very old, very stuck vinyl floor tiles which appear to have been stuck down with Bitumen to a wooden floor? Ideally I would like to remove tiles without damaging wooden floorboards so I can sand them.
