Hi

I have used caustic soda to remove some old paint from the brickwork at the side of the garage door. Don't think the previous owners had a very steady hand!!

It looked great when I'd finished and done the job that other paint removers wouldn't touch!!

Or so I thought, now after a few days I have a "fine white powder" coming through off the bricks. I've tried scrubbing them with hot water, but it keeps reappearing and now looks worse than it did with the paint on.

Any ideas how I could clean them up permanently?

Don't put any water on it, just scrub it off dry with a stiff brush for a week or two to see how that goes.
