Hi all, After a little bit of advice...

On the front of my house there are a few white gloss paint lines around the front door which look like it used to have a porch which has been overpainted onto the brickwork.

The porch is now long gone, is there anyway/ easy way to remove this paint?

Ive tried wire brush..rubbing with another brick but this isnt ideal..

Any ideas??

Cheers
Jon

A heat gun will tend only to soften and spread the paint on such a surface, a far better result would be obtained using a chemical stripper such as Nitromors and if to hand blast off with a pressure washer. Just remember that Nitromors is a chemical so eye and hand protection must be considered, furthermore no need to hold the washer to close as there may be a risk of dislodging any loose pointing.

Don't use anything that will take the face of the brick off, like wire brush, sandstone etc. If it really won't come off - you can cheat and paint the blobs with a similar paint colour to the bricks.
