Hi everyone I am new to this forum.
I recently took part in a plastering course, I now understand the very basics and can plaster a wall and put up plasterboard. However my knowledge besides this with DIY is very weak and I was wondering if I could have some advice. I have a small room with a V shaped ceiling and the plaster is artex and falling down. Behind it is wooden laths. I am keen on knocking out the plaster and replacing it with normal non texture plaster. However I am not really sure where to start. I have time on my hands at the moment and its a room that isn't used much so if I make mistakes I have time to correct them.
I have watched some youtube videos and it seems okay to knock out the plaster with a hammer and then separately the laths? Is this correct?
What do I do with plug sockets and light switches and ceiling lights also ?
Thanks in advance for any advice
