Had a skip delivered, but they came early and left it on the nice black tarmac. Now (as well as a nasty gouge) there are orange rust stains on the client's drive.

Removed the worst with the pressure washer but still left with a clear stain. Have just found a link which recommends pure lemon juice and an old toothbrush, so will try it tomorrow, but any other notions?

I'm sure it will wear away given time. Tarmac is not absorbent or porous like concrete.

If you feel like it, you can buy Jenolite liquid rust remover (it is a clear acid) which removes brown rust stains.

you can get it is some motorists toyshops.

Don't use a paste rust remover which is intended to leave a protective coating.

Use rubber gloves, safety specs etc and have a bucket of cold water handy to wash off any splashes
