Hi, I have built a single block planter which i intend to render on the 'outside' surface but was wondering whether it's worthwhile rendering the inner surface. The planter wall is approx 0.5 m high and the inner area will mainly be filled with soil to about half that depth.
Should I be covering the inside with membrane or bitumastic type paint instead of rendering internally?
Thanks for any advice given,
Snothog.

I would put 2 or 3 of coats of bitumin paint on the inside, as long as it's got drainage at the bottom. You could then render the outside of the planter, paint it with a coloured masonry paint, and draw a design on it. Nice!! ;)

Thanks Roughcaster and er..thanks Ally.....think I'll leave the pretty design idea alone as it will send my missus into 'Gnomes and Windmills' madness or something and I've only just got her back from the squirrels...
Thanks,
Snot Hog.
