Hi all, my floor joists run paralell to my front door, the door has been leaking water underneath, this has now been fixed. leaving me with some rotten floorboard ends to replace. The joist is also damaged, about 2 feet along the length and about two inches depth. Will I need to replace the joist or woud it be possible to remove the damaged bit and replace. thanks.

you could bolt a new joist to the old one? ideally running full length to the padstone each end? jsut get some coach bolts to fix them together

thanks, great idea, was beginning to think I'd asked the wrong question. Will have a good look at the pad stone, see if it will take it.
