One of my Oso Super S series immersion heater elements has broken (bottom one). I’ve bought the part and the correct box spanned.

After switching off the power and turning off the mains water I’ve read it can be be replaced without draining whole tank.

It sounds like I need need to release the pressure before removing the element, catching the water that comes out and quickly inserting the new element. Does anyone know how to do this or how can I can best replace the element please?

Yh give it a go why not , not like you have to be g3 qualified or anything ,,, try explaining it to your insurance company ( if you have one ) when ****e goes south :p

Draining the tank is better. Lots, lots, lots better. Seriously better.

If you choose the non-drain method please have someone on hand to video proceedings and post a link for our edification.

As above, you only attempt to replace this without first draining the cylinder if you have a good sense of humour and don't care about your ceilings. You also need to be G3 qualified to work on these cylinders.
