Hi all - i always get good help on here so firstly, thanks to all who have helped me out in the past.
I have a Mira Essentials 8.5 kw and want to replace it with a Mira Play 9.5kw.
If the cabling was good for the 8.5, will it be good enough for the 9.5?

Thanks
Andy

Thanks seco services - wow quick response :-)
I'm not sure about the cable. it doesn't have any rating printed on the sleeve.
is there a way of telling?
Thanks again

Andy

One way is check the end of the earth in the shower unit.
6mm will be single strand.
10mm is multi strand.

Brilliant!
Is that a sure way of telling?
I can check that easy enough

Andy

poop - it's single copper strand earth (black, red. earth cable) 13mm
:-(

Then personally i wouldn't fit a 9.5kw.

You can check in the sparks forum if you want to go into detail ie how long the run is from consumer to shower, is it clipped etc.

But i never fit a shower above 8kw on anything under 10mm to be on the safe side.

ok thanks again seco services

I'd prefer to play on the safe side.
back to shower hunting :-)

A big thanks again

Andy
