Replacing cold water gravity feed with mains cold feed

Folks in the family are getting a standard boiler and hot water tank replaced with a combi, and it's been suggested that they could take this opportunity to get their cold water tank removed.

All the showers in the house are electric, so the cold water tank feeds baths, basins and WCs.

One installer who quoted said this was a possibility, but that there could be issues with washers, WC valves and the like protesting at the extra pressure.

Is there anything that can be done to mitigate this, without stripping out WCs and taps, etc.?

Pressure reducers, flow restrictors, etc? Any recommendations?

You could fit a PRV on the rising main.
It is quite normal for the installer to make you aware that the fittings on a low pressure system can fail, when converted to mains pressure.
Are aware of what the supply pressure is?

Well it can vary, worth having it checked out.

Not worth fitting a pressure reducing valve in the off chance a toilet valve lets by. If it does, your plumber will replace it in 5 minutes.

I think he's just making you aware that there might be some additional costs for rectifications.
