wish to replace existing 60 amp cu unit with cartridge fuses with a hager 8-way insulated board with 100amp double pole switch. at present there is 2x 5A for lights 1x 15A for immersion and 2x30A for sockets and cooker, these will be replaced with appropiate MCBs.
I would like to know if anyone can tell me if this is viable and are there any other considerations to take in to account by the way a 9.5kw shower is to be added also so a 63A 30MA RCD WILL ALSO BE USED any help will be appreciated

replacing a CU is not really a DIY job - there are lots of things to understand re the supply rating, Earthing arrangements, testing of installation. Try searching the forums under Consumer Unit and you will soon see how complex an area it is. Get an expert in.

1. (being over critical) Surely you mean 30mA. A 30MA RCD would be as much use as a condom machine in the Vatican.

2. Standard question to stop incompetent people installing CUs: Describe TT, TN-S, and TN-C-S supplies, and what supply you have.

3. As for the shower, how many amps is your supply rated at?

Given the loading, you might wish to consider using a RCD with 80A| rating rathe than 60A.
