Hi,
We have recently moved into a house that had damp problems in the kitchen. We were advised to dig out the original concrete floor before we had any damp proof work done to about 22 inches.
We have now dug the floor out and are hoping to get the new floor put in soon. We will be putting in a layer of dolomite, compacting this down, then a layer of sand then visqueen. We are then going to build the joists on top of concrete slabs and bricks.
Please could anyone advise us on -
1. How many joists we would need? - the room is 3.2 metres by 3.4 metres.
2. How many concrete supports we would need across the length of each joist?
3. What distance is required between each joist to follow building regs?
4. What will be the best wall hangings to use?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
