Rich tax-dodgers were bluffing

When you look at where taxes come from, as you go up the scale in to the top 10% and 1% and 0.1% you release that most of the population contribute very little and those in the 10% carry the burden. Once you start getting over £300k a year income, you lost most of your tax free pension allowance, all of your personal allowance and you end up with a nominal tax rate of about 42%. Add to that labours new 47% saving tax and even people on more modest incomes of say £200k would be better leaving the country. Particularly if they get RSUs or similar. If you allow the super wealths, say those on £500k+ to start paying proportionately less tax, for every 1 you attract to the UK, you cover 10 JohnD and Nosenouts.

Lefties think it's right that the wealthy pay more, but they also pay proportionally more and are highly mobile. The lefties don't like that people can leave, they want them dependant on the state, so they vote labour forever.

The biker is one of the few who pretend not to understand that people who have no money don't pay as much tax as people who have a lot.

Income tax is more on people who have a high income than on people who have a low income.

That's how it's supposed to work, dummy.

You still haven't provided any evidence to back up your lies
The very rich don't believe they should pay taxes.

They are so offended by the idea that they "threaten" to run away and live somewhere else.

more lies

JohnD ignores the phrase "proportionally more"

not if you want wealthy people to keep paying for the services you want, but wont pay for.

I am a tax payer, and always have been. I am not a tax grumbler, and never have been.

I pay for the services I use, such as roads, the NHS, bin collections and water supplies.

I'm quite happy to see wealthy tax dodgers flee the country.

provided they don't try to come back.

where are you going?

And then there are those that shed a tear when rich people are asked to pay what they owe. I’m sure one bloke in here was moved to tears when Bernie Ecclescake, had to pay his share.

paying a contribution does not make you a net contributor. Organising your finances to minimise your tax is not paying for the services you use.

Do you seriously think there are people who pay no taxes and are fleeing the country because of the taxes they aren’t paying? Give your head a shake
provided they don't try to come back.

The wealthy pay the taxes that fund the services that you think you’ve paid for.

People with large incomes
(are supposed to)
pay more income tax than people with small incomes.

Everybody knows that.

In many countries, that's how it's supposed to work.

You keep moaning about it.

Go and shout at the pigeons.

and at least another 150 more.

A bunch of edited and selective partial quotations without links.

Does not disprove the fact that Biker keeps moaning that people with large incomes
(are supposed to)
pay more income tax than people with small incomes.
