1930's semi with external flue, have rising damp patches either side of fireplace in an arc shape about 1m high and extending out at floor level to about 1/2 metre. no other damp in the room, unused coal fire, chimney does not have a cowl. Any ideas?
Checked the fireplace and someone has placed a piece of cardboard in the flue I assume to stop cr*p from falling into the hearth. I will remove and monitor, cheers oilman
