I am currently constructing a mono pitch roof over a single story extension at the rear of our house. Although it's been a long time since I've done this type of thing, it's going quite well, the one thing i'm not so sure about is what type of nails/fixings i should be using to secure down the jack rafters, ceiling joists etc. should i be using galvanised nails, good old steel nails or what?. I would ask building control only you get fed up of phoning then all the time, so can anyone out there please advise.
Many thanks

When I did my extension, the inspector said I could use nails or screws, provided they were of external quality.
Got them from Wickes. ;)
