Hi

Had prices of around £460 for dry ridge on garage, 4m-5m length using existing ridge tiles, rebed valleys on house and fit eaves trays to house.

Does this seem reasonable?

Does location make a difference? Think I've read that somewhere.
It's in the North.
Had 2 quotes about the same and another quote £340 but that's because he didn't like dry ridge so was going to rebed with cement, and only do sections of eaves guard.

Its a shift for 2 men, approx £100 material.
Thats doing everything from ladders.
I'm scotland and that's cheap for here.

Yea will be just ladders. Don't mind basic as long as it's done good :)

Make sure they re-bed the valleys and not point them up.
If done properly you got a good deal.

Quote does say rebed. To rebed valleys do tiles need to come off, like the strip closest to the lead in the valley?

Yes they should be stripped off, old mortar removed and re-laid and pointed up on a new bed.
Not a job for freezing temperatures either.

Thought on the procedure. Why not for freezing temperatures? Does it affect the motar?
Think it's booked for the end of the month
