rover 75 abs/speedo

my mate has a rover 75 (w reg)
he says the abs light has come on and the speedo has stopped working any ideas are advice appreciated.

I suspect the abs warning light may be a poor connection under the seat, there is a connector that is some how involved with the warning light, sorry cannot help with the speedo but if you do a search at www.forums.mg-rover.org/ you may find the answer.

I think the ABS needs the speedo to be working. I was told it's all part of the same thing. The ABS light is on because the speedo isn't working.
