Rust on cornerbeading

I have a small problem with rust from the corner beading staining the wall paper. Is there anything that can be painted onto the metal to prevent this?

Usually rust on a bead means damp-problem, you can hide it but it wont go away!! One day you will have to sort it....

I don't think its a major problem (e.g. penetrating damp) as the rust is confined to one spot just above the window. Its probably just condensation from cool air coming in and meeting steam from the kitchen.
