s plan ch system venting into f&e cistern

Hi all,
my dad has an s plan ch system which has just started feeding back into the f&e cistern. Nothing has been changed recently, so I'm thinking it must be a blockage. Could it be anything else?
My thing is kitchens & bathrooms, not ch..
