Do anyone have experience of scoring fibre cement slates?

I'm cladding a 6m x 4m garden studio in Marley Thrutone and find that I can only score a couple of tiles before the tungsten carbide (TC) tip on my trimming knife wears out. Can't seem to find anything more hardwearing that TC, do I just have to accept that I'll get through LOTS of blades?

Buy a decent tile scribe, like you would use on ceramic tiles.

Scribe the slates 2 or 3 times and snap them on the edge of another slate.

One scriber should easily do you.

Palaceray, luckily I had a scribe lurking around it works a treat, thank you again.

Thanks datarebal, good point, I hadn't thought about a snap-off stanley knife will definitely get one and try that too.

Half-way along one wall and I'm very pleased with how fibre cement slates (russett) look as cladding.

Cheers

Simon
