The other day, I purchased a plank from B&Q which I could get into the car only by placing it longwise in the cabin with the front edge on top of the dashboard. Stupidly, I didn't put anything underneath the wood, and consequently there are some small scratches on the plastic surface. The marks are not deep, but noticeable. Can anyone suggest something I could apply to fill the scratches and make them less visible? I don't want to sand it down as that would remove the existing surface detail. The plastic surface is grey. I'd be grateful for any advice.

Stick an air freshner or bobble head car mascot over it?
Try this or a similar clear coat product. I would try lightly spraying the surface a couple of times to try and ‘strike back’ the colour, if that doesn’t work then try spraying some of the material into a small container and brushing it directly onto the scratch with a very fine brush.

There are pros who will repair plastic trim damage. Might be better than knackering it up yourself......

Whatever you do try it on a small area first. I have had success on a bumper using a heat gun but go careful.
