We've lived in our house for just over 2 years. Our house is about 30 years old. Our downstairs bathroom is brand new - put in by the previous owners.
About 3 times a week when you turn the cold water on in the shower a horrible, high-pitched scream happens for about 10 seconds until it dies off. The screaming will stop as soon as you turn the tap off, but as soon as you turn it back on it will continue until the 10 seconds is up and it dies off. When this happens there is also a noticeable decrease in the water pressure.
What is this and is it serious? Should we get a plumber in ASAP? Or is this something we can fix on our own??
TIA!!
