Hello,

I have purchased a 16 channel cctv DVR set in secBo.com and checked that they do have a cheaper version on MPEG4 format with 9 channels, what sort of quality can I expect a MPEG4 when comaring to a H.264 system? From the manual the secBo system uses 1TB HDD that can record about 2 weeks in highest quality, if I use MPEG4 instead, how long it can record? Anyone has a MPEG4 DVR so i can compare the length it can be recorded (at highest quality)?

cheers

:)

there is no correlation between quality and recording time.
Also difficult to compare one recording format to another. You also have to take into account the equipment itself.
Some brands are better than others ;)

oh, I thought if you halved the recording resolution, the recording time can be 4 x as before...
