I'm installing a timber floor using joists and plywood which will need to be lined up with an existing tiled/concrete floor.
I've taken up the tiles and there's a load of grout still stuck hard to the concrete floor. I dont really want to shift it. I could have left tiles down but it led to other issues.
If I leave the new timber floor 2 or 3mm proud of the grout level could I self level over the grout so it will nicely sit flush with new floor?
If I do this, would there be an issue with the self levelller touching the timber or should I run a small bead of silicone so it doesn't chip with movement? Can anyone recommend a leveller that would do the job?
Its got to be bang on as I'm laying an LVT glue plank over.
Lastly, do I need to seal the plywood before applying glue? It may say on glue container but I'm still awaiting delivery and so I thought id ask people's opinions first.
Many thanks
J
