Hi.

What floor material can / can't work with self leveling compound?

Is there any problem with SLC on some floor material, e.g wooden, sand/cememt/concrete/tarlike compound?

I have a tar like black floor about 25mm thick and a lot of dents on it from sofas / furnitures. Last few month I've bought a bag of SLC, pva floor and mix up with water to a slurry like and pour over it and spreaded it with trowel to a perfect level, left it to dry out for a week, no problem. New carpet laid last week.

Someone said to me that some floor material, the SLC will not stick.....

It would best to read the instruction and recommend use of the materials to find out, what it will/won't stick to.
You should be okay with bitumen floors, I have used SLC on them before with no adverse effect.
