So, my drill gave up the ghost whilst I was only half way through laying SLC . My question is, can I just continue and complete the floor or do i need to somehow seal the now dry (more or less) SLC??? My worry is where the new and old join and the possibility of not bonding properly as they'll overlay.

without seeing it its difficult to say what to do.
but its not a big deal and will be easy enough resolved.
why not mix by hand?

do you have any primer on hand - or even Pva if no damp isues?
you could prime the last 150mm of SLC, and the next 150mm bit of floor, and then begin to pour and using a wood or plastic trowel, trowel float the join.

whats going over the SLC?
