is it possible to self level in sections? it looks like doing the room in one go is going to be a logistical nightmare so i was considering using wooden batons to square off areas a do them bit by bit.

Of course making sure they're completely level is going to be tough, i was thinking of cutting a notch in the battons so that the compound would leak over at the right height.

I'm looking to level to a height of about 8mm. Some artex product said it would do 10mm in one go.

On top of this will be a layer of dupron underlay which should take care of minor inconsistencies.

One of the reasons for going up to 8mm is to cover some ceramic tiles that have been glued to part of the concrete with glue-of-the-gods. I can get the tiles up but it's going to take a long time and take half the concrete up underneath. Just covering them seems the most efficient option

I'd really appreciated anyone with more knowledge (which means anyone) giving an idea on whether i'm heading down the right path?

huges thanks in advance
