Hi ,
I’ve just put some self levelling in the downstairs bathroom and adjoining rear porch which is all good now I have to do the adjoining kitchen floor, currently they have some old plastic tiles on which are stuck
Down with a asbestos type adhesive ( black stuff) , do the tiles need to come up first before the self levelling or can I go
Straight over the top of them… they are all stuck down pretty well and the self levelling is going to
Be around 6-8 mm
Thanks
Jake

Those plastic tiles could be asbestos. Mine were so I popped up and took to tip years ago.
I then used a 2 pack floor leveler suitable for that black tar like adhesive
