Hi folks, just dropped the oil out of my toyota aygo and spun off the old filter as it's time for a service. Then got the bag of stuff the local motor factor man put together for me and noticed the oil he sold me is semi synthetic. Had a quick look in the hand book only to find it recommends fully synthetic. It states "do not use mineral oil". I presume semi synth. is part mineral oil so will it damage the engine ?
I am thinking i should swap the oil for fully synth. or won't it make any difference. The oil i have still meets the required API grade.
Help please. Stix.

From the Toyota Owners' Club this comment is shown re the Aygo:
What type of oil does it use ? Petrol engine uses a preferred 5W-30 but in warm climates (where engine will not be exposed to less than -10 degrees) 20W-50 or 15W-40 can be used, Diesel is 5W-30 or 5W-40 only. Both engines hold 3.3 litres with filter. Only use fully synthetic oil.

Also have a look at this thread. You could register and ask your question direcly. ;)
