Sometimes. Alpha for instance use the same board for everything so you ave to adjust it. Exception is the byflow heat exchanger model, believe it or not if you put the wrong board in it it would actually work but the pump would run unnecessarily when you run a hot tap. If you did vice verca then the pump wouldn't run for hot water in a conventional combi and you'd be called back.

Many boilers have a initial gas pressure setting typically 4mbar, should be set right, but really wnats checking because if it isn't high enough the gas valve is more likely to stick due to glycol...

Range rating of central heating really should be performed in these days of energy efficiency . Most manufacturers provide facility for this. If you set it to minimum it might be say 10kw, max might be 24kw. Some boilers you do it digitally on the front panel.

Band A boilers require some sort of adjustment when changing a part like this which involves the use of an analyser and a differential manometer. Instructions for how to perform the set up should be provided with the sensetive part. If not call manufacturers to check.
