Setting Up Freesat Kit to Dish

We are just trying to set up a Freesat Extension Kit to a Dish and into the Freesat Box indoors but it will not pick up any signal and says please connect cable. We have tried the small cables that came in the box and also cut down the long cable that came with it but neither work.
Anyone got any tips?!

You have to align the dish on the Astra-2 satellite cluster (designated 28.2° East because that is the angle it subtends from the Greenwich meridian) then connect the receiver tuner input to the LNB output.

If you are trying to aim the dish there are three basic methods.
1) The pros alinement tool which they can set which satellite to look for.
2) The basic alinement tool which will pick up any satellite and needs the receiver connected in order to get power.
3) The built in tool of the receiver which will show on the TV the strength of signal.
The third method is a bit of a problem if your just starting as first you need to tune in the receiver which means taking to some one who already has the dish set up and allow the unit to store all the stations first then return home and use the box to find the satellite.
Even then there is a problem as not one satellite but a group so one can end up with only some being received if not tuned to centre one.

When you say Freesat extension kit do you alredy have a working satellite system in one room Sky/Freesat ? and want to connect up an extra box in a different room or is this a brand new install ?
