Hi,
I'm building a retaining wall 1m high using 100x215 solid dense blocks laid flat. When I dug the foundation (30cmx45cm) I discovered a broken drain pipe beginning at just above the bottom of the trench sitting on much softer ground that goes through at about 45 degrees and I've had a drain company replace the broken section.
I was advised the best thing to do was to shutter the bad ground and pipe (1.5m across) and put a lintel across it.

The concrete is currently in. I was thinking of getting 4 or 5 65x100 lintels and using them on their side with a 3-1 mortar, is this the correct thing to do? Will 1.8m lintel be sufficient?

Here's a rubbish paint drawing with a top down and side view
