Shed /workshop base rough guide?

Looking to buy a self assembly workshop sized shed and will need a base of maybe 20x10.
I want to remain in the garden building reg limits and don’t fancy digging out and borrowing a bunch of concrete/gravel to construct a base.
I am in Berkshire, have a drive, a front lawn for spoil and reasonable side access although the gate is only roughly 3 feet wide

Any idea what a general builder /landscaper would charge to dig out a foundation and make a concrete slab of about 200 sq feet?

Find a small firm or one man band and you could pay as little as £500-£1000 labour plus materials.
Proper building firm would charge more than that obvs.

The reason I mention the former is because the latter probably wouldn't want to bother with a small job like this, or they'll be booked up for months already.

You could do it yourself and just pay someone to help out with the digging and shifting. Bribe mates with barbecue and beers?

Yeah, I was thinking of a bloke with a van and a gopher. The price is what I expected.
Haven’t decided on the actual size yet but even half the size would be roughly the same labour wise.
I do know a few trade guys who might know someone.

I could get a bunch of mates to do some digging and get a barrow mix to pour it

Micro digger will most likely go through there. Dig it, shutter the side with timber and road pins, get barrowmix to fill and finish. The pad wants to be sized so water running down the walls goes outwards and not on to the pad and runs in. Don't underestimate how secure the shuttering needs to be - you want the top surface a bit above ground level.

I thought, but wasn’t sure, if barrow mix were deliver only, or offered a pouring and finishing “service”
I’d prefer a concrete slab over a timber or gavel / gravel grid base as I hope to use it for my motorbike restorations and general pottering with “stuff”
I’ve just retired.
Having said that, my garden shed (too small to do more than store a bike and a lawnmower) was built 25 years ago just laid on timber bearers and is pretty much as good as it was on day one.

I could dig out myself, maybe getting some mates to do some but due to health I might find the diy digging a bit much.
I could dig a test to check my digging rate. After all, I am in no real rush and could do it over a couple of weeks.
I can dispose of the spoil by hippo bags or similar in the front garden

I’lll look into the availability of laying barrow mix suppliers locally

I’ve watched a few YouTube videos and know about compacting and MOT type bases and DPC barriers.

If anyone has suggestions they’re welcome.
I aim to run a duct for cable which can come from the shed (which is fed from an existing underground armoured cable)
The shed/workshop would be (probably ) self assembly from a kit like flat pack.
