Shiny ceiling, why?

Unfortunately I have the old pop corn ceilings where I am. Yesterday I painted it with a one coat matt ceiling and crack poly cell paint and today I have looked at the finish and the ceiling is literally shining.

I have no experience in painting so I have no idea if this s normal or if I am doing something wrong?
