Hi again :)

Hope someone can help me with this one quickly please (laminate flooring is going back in tomorrow)…..

I finally got my JG speedfit pipe in to replace the leaking copper. As you can see, it’s in a tight channel cut out of the concrete floor in the new kitchen extension (fully insulated). When the laminate flooring is back down there’s not much room to lag the pipes in foam insulation without causing a bit of sag on each 300mm between the clips.

I never had the central heating on once this winter and the coldest it got in the kitchen was 5°C. Concrete holds heat well, there’s an insulated block cavity wall, and the concrete floor sits on 4” insulation.

A long winded way to ask if I need to insulate the speedfit pipes in the channel ?? Not bothered about heat loss on the hot water supply, I never use it, and if I did, my oil fired combi puts out more than enough hot water not worry about it !!

Cheers ;)

No.
Insulate to stop it freezing or heat escaping.
I've seen copper run in floors then covered in wood sheet to make a floor.
No insulation
