Just been watching this and it does confirm that many artist are on another planet. But it is very, very funny to hear these artists describe their work and what lies behind it.
1. guy fills up a piece of ply with twin switched sockets and plug leads to describe his fight with Parkinsons disease. He was asking £700-£800 but was later asking £1200.
2. Young lady art student shows a little picture made from putting printing ink on her lips and kissing the paper. Calls it Sigh, but judges don't know how she sighed with her mouth wide open. Wants £50 for it but it beggars the question. Tax payers or her parents are funding her at great cost for her to produce a load of silly rubbish. Mum thinks she's wasting her time.
3. Guy shows a graphic painting/felt tip of a seahorse that the judges thought looked more like a duck. Wanted £30,000 but the only other picture he had sold was for £8.
4. Woman found it therapeutic to pen and ink a load of house bricks. Thousands of them and all different. Beggars the question. Why doesn't she take up brick laying. Got £700 for the picture but could have built a workshop in the time spent on it.
I guess there will be more laughs to come
