Hi I have the following downstairs bathroom that needs to be fitted. The shower area is recessed about 30mm, sand filled with a large waste pipe. Guessing the recess can be topped up with more sand then compacted and then the shower trap waste fed into this?

Another question I have is that I have seen vapour barrier sheets installed around the shower area- is this worth doing?
