Are modern shower cubicles designed to be connected to a toilet waste connector? Are their traps suitable for the job?
I'm not sure my shower cubicle has a suitable trap - it is similar to this one:

The metal dome accessible from inside the shower cubicle can act as a trap - by pressing it down - but that's not exactly the same as having something like this:

To add to the problem...the cubicle has a steam engine with relative waste exit which is connected via a flexible hose to the shower "trap" (nearby the 32mm outlet).
I'm thinking of fitting a shallow trap and connecting the flexible hose from the steamer somewhere between the trap and the toilet waste.
