Shower drain cover

Hello

i'm looking for help in identifying a replacement part for the shower tray. Ive googled and have found its called a shower drain cover. The part is plastic with a chrome colour but this has tarnished and needs replacing. I can only find other plastic ones. I have a few questions please:
can you buy replacements in metal?
What search term should I use, what's the part called other than "shower drain cover"
What dimensions do I need to check
Can I buy a different type of this item that is easier to clean?

Unfortunately without know the make of trap it would be very difficult to find a replacement, there isn't really a universal trap insert that is available. That being said if you go looking on places like amazon you may be able to find one that is compatible and you just need to be accurate with sizing all the relative parts to find one that may fit. or you may be able to swap out the top etc.

Never seen a mushroom type like that nowadays that is chromed brass
