I'm going to be fitting a bax mixer shower over Christmas for my mum, so I thought I'd be organised and I've bought a concealed fixing bracket to make the job easier (I hope). It's basically a metal bar with 2 brass elbows attached, each with a compression joint on one end for the supply coming down the wall, and a thread on the other end of the elbow, with a chrome piece screwing into the thread that extends through the tiles for the bar shower to be attached to.
Simple question, there's no washers supplied with the bracket, do I just use PTFE tape on the thread of the chrome piece when I screw it into the elbow? Is this sufficient to provide a seal, or should I be using something else?
Many thanks in advance.
