We want the shower head to come out further over the bath. Our present Mira electric shower head is close to the wall, so we bought an extension arm, but although this does work to some extent, it makes the head droop down under its own weight. We have put a piece of insulation tape to hold it back up to the riser rail, but this looks awful. Is there something out there which would solve this? We are planning to replace the head with an EcoCamel Jetstream anyway as this would hopefully increase the flow which is rather poor anyway.

An electric shower always has a poor flow, because the amount of energy they can supply can only warm a small amount of water. If you increase the flow with a less-restricting showerhead, the temperature will be lower. It will be worse in winter when the incoming supply is colder. IIRC the hose connector is standard size, so any brand of rail and handset will fit.

You could try taking the head off and descaling it, just in case limescale is restricting the flow more than necessary.
