Hi All,

We have a shower pump feeding a Grohe shower valve which has two handles, one that controls the power of the feed, the other controls the temperature. We've noticed over the last few months that the temperature of the hot water is a lot less than it used to be even with it on max and a lot less than when running the bath tap hot water.

Any ideas as to what's wrong?

Cheers

I'm not a pro, but my guess is that the valve has some kind of safety built in where it can't exceed a certain temperature, so mixes some cold in.

yes it probably has but that doesn't count for the gradual fall in temperature.

It will be a cartridge fault, which model of grohe shower valve do you have ?

Try the shower doctor web site and have a look for your shower valve.

Thanks. It does look very similar. The cartridge (if that's the problem is over £100.00!). Is there any way of confirming this is the problem?

You could try and remove the cartridge and leave it in lime scale reducer for 24 hrs.

All depends if you can isolate the shower without losing water in the house.

Thanks for that. Are there any instructions on how to remove the cartridge. Do I assume I have to drain down the entire hot water system and turn off the water to the house to do it?
