Hi, im new here and have a query regarding my shower pump.
Its a Showermate 1.4 bar twin. basicaly it supplies water to two showers in the house, one upstairs and one down stairs. if i select either of the shower controls to full hot or close to full hot the pump cuts in and out but as soon as you return the heat control back towards the halfway position the pump is quite happy. It is also happy if you select full cold too. I called the company that makes the pump and they reckond it was because the water temp on hot water cylinder was to high. As instructed its been turned down to 58 degrees but still no change.
I recently had a new diverter valve replaced as old one was stuck on hot water,no heating.
Sorry if my explenation is a bit vauge but any help would be great before having to call someone out or replacing components.

Hi Seco Services,
Thanks for the reply. I have not checked these as am not sure where to start.
I located the pump and it has four flexible pipes coming off the top. two of them have isolation valves, one from the hot tank and one presumably from cold water tank in the loft. I guess the other two pipes are the supply to the shower?
Would these filters be located in the small flexible pipes with the push fit fittings?

Thanks again in advance, any help given is greatly apreciated,Oscar.

Yes they are in the 2 supply flexis from the hw cylinder/cws in the loft.
You'll need to isolate the 2 supplies, isolate power to pump, wrap a towel around the pump and remove the 2 flexis.
The towel will catch the excess water in the pipework.

PS
I have seen quite a few of the showermate 1.4 that don't have any filters at all.

Ok,thank you. Will try have a look tonight if not at work much longer.
Hopefully the tide wont come in! :D

Ok,if there are no filters fitted to the supply lines is there something else i need to look for?
If i undoo the flexi pipes to the pump will i need to bleed the pump of air before running it?
When running the shower as its cutting out you can hear a strange bubbling sound behind the mixer valve upstairs, does this mean anything?

Hi Seco Services,
Have today finally had a chance to look at the shower pump. I did not find any filters in the supply pipes but did find a mesh filter on the body of the pump where the flexible pipe screws onto the pump. It does not seem to come out and i did not want to force it out. Is it part of the pump or a removable item?
Anyway all back together and it made no difference when running, still cutting out intermitently, until i started to tap the little white switch on the side then it came good.It now runs fine but i guess its only a matter of time before it coughs again.
Is this the flow switch and to replace it will i need to issolate the water supply? It only has a philips screw holding it in place but did not want to disturb untill i had a new one incase its got an o ring or seal on the back.

Many thanks for any help in advance,Oscar.
