I have a wickes twin impellor 2 bar brass shower pump, that intermittently will not activate. It's been installed about 17-18 years. I'm guessing it's an issue with the flow switch. Does anyone know if it's possible to get at the flow switch on these pumps? I'm thinking it be may be furred up slightly and needs cleaning. I'm loathe to replace it as we will be having a new bathroom in about 18 months.

I believe those pumps have reed valves, they're the black plastic fittings that are wrapped around the outlet legs of the pump. Not sure but I seem to remember that the wickes pumps were rebadged grundfos amazons.

Don't think the switches are available any more. They may just need the inlet and outlets striped and cleaned out/serviced.

Rob, thanks, I may well try that next time, it's working ok at the moment, (touch wood). But, is it ok to open these? worried it may leak afterwards.
