I am going to put in a new shower pump to a thermostatic mixer. does it matter where the pump sits in the pipe run as i have to go into the attic and back down to the shower. And should I use 22mm or 15mm pipes.

Shower pump should be next to the cylinder with its own cold supply from the cold water tank and a supply from the cylinder via a flange.
Go for a Stuart & Turner pump (2bar) It might also have to be a negative head pump.
