Hi, I’m replacing my old shower tray. Can anyone please tell me how to remove the shower trap that connects the tray to the waiste, so that I can remove the tray? Photo enclosed.
Regards Dave

This is what it should look like so doesn’t matter which part you unscrew really (assuming all disconnected); just might be easier to get some leverage on the part underneath if stiff. No special tool as such but if it were me trying to undo that and I had no access underneath I’d probably just use a hammer and perhaps a bit of wood against the raised bits to start turning it if it’s hard to loosen.

Thank you very much for your reply. I’ll try and give it a tap and hopefully it unwinds.
Regards Dave

The top piece should unscrew from the trap below. Going by those 2 slots that the chrome top sits in, there would have been a tool that came with the trap that would have fitted in there that'll be long gone.

Use something like a steel rule or similar to sit in those ridges and press down hard to grip and it should unscrew

You see those plastic nibs on the edge of the hole? Use them to turn the entire fitting anti clockwise

I use the grille that came with mine, but anything that fits will work:
