I had a new Mira coda thermostatic shower fitted a couple of years ago. Every few weeks I have to remove the shower valve from the wall & clean the small mesh filter to the hot water feed as it is getting blocked with sediment causing the shower to become very weak. We never had this problem with the previous shower so I assume that did not have a filter. Is it ok to remove this filter altogether or would the sediment not blocked by the filter cause damage to the shower valve itself? The shower is a gravity fed system.

If you've got that much rubbish coming through then you need to sort out the cause of it
